STUF-200H Handheld Ultrasonic Flowmeter |
|

|
This low cost portable ultrasonic flowmeter is one of the most powerful clamp-on liquid flowmeters. It employees state-of-the-art digital signal processing and ultrasonic transit-time measurement technologies for accurate and reliable flow measurement. The unique signal quality tracking and self-adjusting capability allow the flowmeter to automatically match different pipe materials and fluid conditions. Since the transducers are the
non-intrusive clamp-on type, the installation can be done in just a few minutes simple and easy. And no need to cut pipes or drill holes.
In this compact and light package, many built-in features make the flowmeter an ideal tool for flow surveys (water, waste water, oil, chemicals, food, beverages, etc), hydronic
balancing, and other closed-pipe applications. The accuracy of the flowmeter is normally better than \1%.

STUF-300F1B Wall-Mount, Clamp-on Transit-Time Ultrasonic Flowmeter |
 |
The
STUF-300F1B flowmeter is the new generation of our economical clamp-on ultrasonic flowmeter
products. Compared with the previous generations, this generation
offers higher performances and a richer feature set, all at a lower
price.
Due to the non-intrusive nature of the clamp-on technique, there is no pressure drop, no moving parts, no leaks, and no contamination. The installation is very simple and the maintenance is minimal.
The STUF-300F1B is
suitable for fixed-installation applications such as liquid process control, city water management, flowmeter networking, etc.

STUF-300F1C Wall-Mount, Insertion Transit-Time Flowmeter |
|
The STUF-300F1C ultrasonic flowmeter utilizes a pair of wetted (insertion) transducers to measure liquid flow in a pipe. Even though its transducers are inserted into the pipe wall, they do not intrude into the flow, thus do not generate disturbance or pressure drop to the flow. Compared with clamp-on flowmeters,
the wetted type has the advantage of long-term stability and better accuracy. This type of liquid flowmeters are widely used in process control, water / waste water treatment plants, facility water management, oil/fuel flow monitoring, etc. |

STUF-300F1G High-accuracy Flow-cell Ultrasonic Flowmeter |
 |
The STUF-300F1G flow-cell ultrasonic flowmeter
focuses on high accuracy, long-term stability and no maintenance.
The transducer is made from either cast iron or stainless steel. It is calibrated in the factory to high accuracy. There is no moving parts to wear out, thus the system has a long life span and needs no maintenance. |
STUF-300R1B Thermal Energy Meter |
|

|
The STUF-300R1B ultrasonic thermal energy meter combines our high-accuracy
transit time flowmeters
(fixed installation version) with standard Pt100 temperature
sensors to measure thermal energy transfer. It can be used for any
liquid-based heating/cooling systems. STUF-300R1B is a very
useful tool for energy consumption management in office buildings
and apartment complexes. Customers also use it for monitoring the
efficiency of a HVACs or other thermal energy production system. |

StufManagerTM
PC Software for Flowmeter Data Management |
|

Shenitech has introduced StufManagerTM PC software to STUF-xxx users. This software is aimed to facilitate the use of and to explore the full potential of STUF-xxxx series ultrasonic flowmeters.
StufManagerTM
software makes it very easy to connect a STUF-xxx flowmeter to a PC through the RS-232 or RS485 link. The software automatically detects the COM port used by the PC and talks to the flowmeter with minimum human interaction. StufManagerTM
software can obtain the flowmeter data in real time and display the data on a graphic interface. In addition, it allows the real-time data to be recorded and saved into the PC hard drive.
One important feature of StufManagerTM is its data logger management functionality for STUF-200H handheld flowmeters. Through the user-friendly interface, one can easily configure the data logger. The software allows users to download data from the data logger, to format the downloaded raw data into standard format, and to save the data into the PC hard drive. One can use Excel or other spreadsheet software programs to manipulate the data. |
Basic Facts about Ultrasonic Flowmeters
Ultrasonic flowmeters are very promising instruments for pipe flow measurement in process control, flow survey, custody transfer, etc. They have many advantages
over conventional flowmeters, such as non-intrusiveness, no pressure drop, no moving parts, easy installation and minimum maintenance, just to name a few.
Depending on the measurement technology and transducer type, ultrasonic flowmeters come in several different types, such as clamp-on, handheld, insertion-wetted, flow-cell/spool-piece type, wall-mount/fixed-installation flowmeter, etc.

The most widely used ultrasonic flowmeters are based on the transit-time principle. As shown in the figure, a typical transit-time ultrasonic flowmeter system utilizes two transducers that function as both ultrasonic transmitter and receiver. The flowmeter operates by alternately transmitting and receiving a burst of sound energy between the two transducers and measuring the transit time that it takes for sound to travel between the two transducers. The difference in the transit time measured is directly and exactly related to the velocity of the liquid in the pipe.
